Penn Can Speedway
Hall of Fame
Nominations for the first class of the Penn Can Speedway Hall of Fame will be accepted for the next eight weeks. We are looking for those deserving drivers, owners, crew members, and officials that have made Penn Can great throughout the years. Our plan is to induct those deserving members in two different eras from the past. The first division will be those from the early years from 1952 to 1979. The modern era will begin with 1980 and go up until 2005. Fans may submit the names of drivers, owners, crew members, and officials to the speedway office by one of several ways. Names may be submitted at the speedway on race night by filling out a form that will be provided. Names may also be submitted by using the online form from the Penn Can Speedway website or names may be e-mailed to the speedway office. Once the fan nominations are made, a list of finalists will be released. Fans will then be able to vote for those they think should be part of the Hall of Fame. A panel of eight members will be selected to determine the first class. The fan vote will count as the ninth member of the selection committee. Those selected for the first Hall of Fame class will be presented on the “Legends of Penn Can Night” sponsored by Gary’s U-Pull-It Friday July 29th.
The selection committee will be composed of the following:
1. One representative of the Mid State Antique Car Club
2. Five members of the local press or local race fans
3. Two speedway representative
4. Fan Vote
